My First Etsy Sale

I sold my 1 bottle in in November 2011 after about a month I put my bottles on Etsy (

You know I am in UK and the first customer was from Australia

I wanted to serve her as quick as possible.

My husband has aunty who lives in Australia and on the time of the sale she was visiting England.

I was so upset when post office sad that parcel will go to Australia 5-6 weeks so I asked aunty Mary (she is about 75 years old I think) to take bottle and post it when she come back to Australia.

I packed parcel and was sure Mary will put it in luggage, but she was caring it in hand bag….

Well here I have to say that order was for the flattened bottle to use as cheese boards and CHEESE KNIFE!!!!

Nothing happened on UK border, but in Singapore they found the knife and she was strip searched….

Knife was confiscated ….

Aunty Mary didn’t want to send bottle without the knife, so she spend sometime trying to find the similar one….

In January my customer from Australia contacted me and sad she still waiting for her bottle, after all problems I cause to aunty I didn’t dear to asked her what happening….

So I made another bottle and posted it by Royal Mail….

I couldn’t believe it…..

Order was delivered to Australia, but on the same day when is was delivered aunty Mary contacted my customer and asked when she can deliver the bottle ( and the knife!!!! Lol)

Now Australia has 2 of my bottles

So my fist sale will be memorable for many people

All this hassle and it, took 1 week!!!! only

Well I have to say, simple way is the best one…..

I will contact Mary and ask her to keep it like souvenir

Hope you have a good weekend

A day in the life and a beautiful sunset

Hi Katerina!

I enjoyed your pictures. I think your table looks nice and has a lot of class. I love those mantle clocks you have up there. Very nice. I think for packaging it should be simple. Maybe a plastic bag with a pretty bow? You want to show off your bottles for sure. I wouldn’t hide them.

I’m sure that you are a good mom and everything you set out to do. Thanks for being my friend. I enjoy talking with you. :0)

Like you, I had a busy week. On Saturday, my son Stephen, the youngest, made a Tres Leches, or 3 milk, cake. He’s a budding chef and here he is using the stand mixer for the first time:

The cake was absolutely delicious! I forgot to take a picture of it though. Here’s the recipe:

Today we were at the car wash at lunch time. I sat in the car and crocheted while Mike washed it. I got bored and whipped out my camera:

It turned out pretty good, I thought. I only had a small camera with me.

On the way home last week we stopped to take pictures of the sunset and the mountains. Mike took them because I forgot to put my CF card in my camera. The first is Pike’s Peak

We are 90 miles from this mountain. It stands more than 14,000 feet above sea level. You can kind of get an idea of how tall it is from this vantage point.

The sunset was really taking place behind the Twin Spanish Peaks.

Again, we’re about 90 miles away from these mountains too. They are about 12 and 13,000 feet high. Our area is about 4,000 plus in elevation. It’s funny. In Colorado our city signs tell you what city you’re coming into and what elevation you are at. In California, where I used to live, they told population and elevation. I guess getting high means everything in Colorado! Ha!

I hope you have a good night’s sleep and day at work. By the time you get up I should be sound asleep. It’s Friday!

Iron Bridge Antiques, Arts and Crafts (week 2)

Good Evening Lisa!
My life is very busy at the moment; I try to fulfil all my duty at once.

Be good mother, good wife, good daughter, good employer and business
As usual you have 24 hours only, so I am trying to stretch it as far as
I want to be a good friend too !Image so this post is my letter to you and a
bit of a story with photos.
I already told you that I have a craft space in the Art and Craft
gallery near Iron Bridge.
Very brave family started this new business in October last year. You
know how bad finance situation at the moment is, radio predict it’s
going to be even worse before we hit the bottom. But this people were
not afraid to start.

I made some photos – you may see there are many crafts.
Personally  I really like the idea of the ferry’s door! You need to have
door if you want ferry to come!!!

My table looks a bit boring between all this colours and lights, I am
thinking about some decorations…or maybe cool packaging for my
bottles? Any ideas?

I love people imagination and I like that so many people appreciate
craft. Craftsmen had good sales around Xmass. Mine is ok, but I am
looking for partner, to shear my craft space, For sure it’s too big for
me. I do have full time job and I start my dancing classes again!!!!

Good night my friend 🙂 hope to hear from you soon
